Foaming Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner with CarbonClear™
Gumout® Foaming Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner with CarbonClear™ deep cleans GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) / PFI (Port Fuel Injection) intake valves, as well as, the throttle body, intake ports, fuel injectors and combustion chambers, and/or turbo compressor and turbine to restore fuel economy and maximize horsepower. Removing carbon & fuel deposits from gasoline engine’s intake valves, intake ports & turbos is essential to ensuring optimal vehicle performance. Made with CarbonClear™, the most advanced P.E.A. cleaning agent available, Gumout® Foaming Intake Valve & Turbo Cleaner is strong enough to cut through thick carbon deposits, even at extreme engine temperatures. The patented high foaming formula atomizes better than typical liquid cleaners to thoroughly coat the full air intake/turbo system which ensures a complete system clean while also minimizing the risk of hydro-locking the engine.
What it Does
Directions
- 540028 - 11 oz.
Intake Valve & Throttle Body Cleaning
- Loosen air intake clamp & boot where it attaches to the air cleaner box/back of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
- Insert one end of tube into the intake boot, ensuring tube is facing away from MAF Sensor & retighten clamp (DO NOT SPRAY TOWARD SENSOR). Insert other end of tube firmly into nozzle & confirm product is free of moving engine parts.
- Start vehicle & bring up to normal operating temperature.
- Hold engine at 2000 RPM & spray product with short bursts, visually confirming fluid is flowing through tube, continue spraying in short bursts until all the product has been used. If engine stalls, immediately stop spraying & restart engine before spraying again.
- Confirm product is no longer flowing through tube, rev the engine 2-3 times, not exceeding 3,000 RPM, then allow engine to run at idle for 5 minutes.
- Loosen the intake boot clamp, remove tube, reinstall intake boot & clamp.
- Take vehicle on a 15-mile drive, but do not immediately drive at highway speeds.
Turbo Cleaning
- Loosen turbo clamp & boot from the side closest to the turbo inlet.
- Insert one end of tube into the turbo boot facing turbo (ENSURE TUBE DOES NOT CONTACT TURBO IMPELLERS) & retighten clamp. Insert other end of tube firmly into nozzle & confirm product is free of moving engine parts.
- Start vehicle & bring up to normal operating temperature.
- Hold engine at 2000 RPM & spray product with short bursts, visually confirm fluid is flowing through tube, continue spraying in short bursts until all the product has been used. If engine stalls, immediately stop spraying & restart engine before spraying again.
