Overtime, carburetors and choke valves can become clogged with gum, varnish and dirt, affecting performance. Gumout® Carb/Choke & Parts Cleaner quickly removes these deposits from the inside and outside of the carburetor to improve engine performance and fuel economy. It also effectively cleans all nonpainted metal parts and surfaces.

Keep away from battery terminals and electrical connections. Spray with can in upright position. Insert plastic tube firmly into valve button.
With engine off and cool:
Carburetor: Remove the air cleaner and clean the outside of the carburetor and all of the linkage. Avoid spraying electrical connections. Manifold heat control: Spray on exposed ends of cool heat riser shaft. Allow to penetrate and clean. Move counterweight up and down until free.
With engine running:
Carburetor: Spray to both ends of the choke valve shaft while working choke by hand. Spray down and around the carburetor throat to remove deposits from the throttle plate area. Do not spray down carburetor throat with engine off. Do not spray below throttle plate. Choke: If choke sticks, remove choke cover and spray. PCV Valve: Disconnect the crankcase side of the valve and spray into the open end of the valve while working the plunger back and forth.
Not recommended for fuel-injected vehicles. Will not harm catalytic converters or oxygen sensors. Contains no methanol or methylene chloride. If sprayed on painted surface, wipe off at once.

Works great!

Carb and fuel cleaner worked well on my Kohler mower engine

I like the Shop pro but get this it's worth it.

Mechanically, this stuff is absolute gold. It blasts through 30 years of varnish, gum, and questionable choices on a dirty carburetor throat instantly. My only real complaint is with the packaging instructions. The label implies you can use this for multiple maintenance sessions. We all know that's a lie. Once you press down on that nozzle and watch the gunk instantly melt off the metal throttle plate, you enter a trance. Before you know it, you’ve used the entire 16-ounce can on a single lawnmower carburetor the size of a walnut. 5 stars. Will buy a case next time because I have zero self-control.

Great carb cleaner agent....works perfectly For carbs parts and fuel jets..I recommend this product

Solid performance from this Gumout cleaner. It’s a lifesaver for cleaning out gunked-up components; the 16oz can goes a long way and handles heavy carbon buildup without a struggle.

Great Savings!!! I always try and some extra cans in my garage. I never know what I’m going to clean next. Great Product!

It works good!

It works every time

This done a good at breaking down build up that was on a carb. ,from a 1973 Datsun pick up. I also like the buy 2 for a discount that AutoZone had on it . Thanks

I had a sluggish lawnmower, and Gumout cleaned up the carburetor nicely. Something about that blend of solvents can't be beat when it comes to loosening debris and dissolving varnishes that form over time. I mowed the yard yesterday, and the lawnmower started on the first pull.

If you have a car, it can be tempting just to ignore any type of maintenance unless something goes wrong. We probably don’t have to tell you that this is a bad idea. However, not everyone agrees on what preventive maintenance is, what you should do and when you should do it. Let’s clear that up, and give you some tips that’ll apply to any vehicle.
