Mass Airflow Sensor Cleaner

Gumout® Professional Formula Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner safely cleans gas and diesel MAF Sensors restoring sensor functionality and engine performance. Overtime, dirt, pollen, oil and other contaminates build up on the MAF Sensor which leads to poor sensor performance. A clean Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor is instrumental in ensuring the optimal air-to-fuel ratio is delivered to the engine. To maintain optimal functionality, clean the MAF sensor when the vehicle’s air filter is serviced/replaced.

Directions

  • 540041 - 11oz

    Before beginning, ensure vehicle is off and the engine is cool.

    1. Locate Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF); located between the air box and throttle body.
    2. Disconnect the MAF wiring harness.
    3. Remove the MAF housing.
    4. Place a towel underneath the MAF to catch cleaner runoff.
    5. With provided tube attached, spray 10-15 bursts of Gumout® Professional Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner to the inside of the MAF. DO NOT allow the tube or any other object to touch the hot wire except the cleaning fluid (if applicable).
    6. Spray all sides of the MAF, including the housing,
      connectors, and terminals.
    7. Allow the MAF to dry completely before reassembly.
    8. To maintain vehicle performance, clean MAF sensor with Gumout® Professional Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner every time the air filter is changed.

     

    Do NOT apply to vehicles with a Karman-Vortex Air Flow Sensor, e.g., Toyota Supra Turbo, Mitsubishi’s and most Lexus vehicles
