Never thought I needed a fuel additive, but it works! ​I never really thought about fuel additives, and honestly, I had no idea so much gunk could build up inside an engine. But after giving Gumout a try to clean things out, I noticed a difference right away. ​First, the engine sounds much quieter when starting up. Second, the noise at idle has definitely gone down. My car has 100,000 miles on it and gets serviced by a trusted shop twice a year, so the fact that I can still feel a difference says a lot. I highly recommend giving it a try.

All I had to do was wait until I had an empty tank, pour it in, and then fill the tank with gas to mix. Unfortunately, I'm not really sure it did anything. I was looking at my miles per gallon before and it is almost equivalent to my miles per gallon (and miles per tank) since pouring in the product. Therefore, it's tough to give this a good rating. It may be cleaning out my fuel system, but I wouldn't know that. One thing of note is that you do not want to get it on any parts of your interior as it will likely stain (I learned that the hard way). As there is nothing I can do about it now, I will simply give it more time but I don't really think very highly of this product.

I did see notice that my tank of gas did last a bit longer while really that extra bit might not seem like much overtime it does add up. I can't speak to the cleaning of the carbon deposits though. I will have to keep using it for a while to see if the fuel consumption gets better and really if there are other noticeable changes, it wont hurt to try especially if it means protecting and bettering the engine. Overall it is an easy and quick product to use, it does have an oily smell so be careful not to spill any on something that may stain. Again only time will tell.

Product is easy to use, just empty contents in a low tank before your fill up the gas tank. Regarding the claim to better fuel economy saw no change on my odometer, at the 3/4 full gives me albout 50-60 miles, and at 1/4 left with about 180-200 miles. Truck is driven mostly in the city traffic about 95% and rest on highway. It will be hard to know about deposit removals without taking pictures of the throttle and pistons before and after use. It will definitely help clean deposits, which could help with better fuel economy, but after several applications. Have found from previous occasions using similar products that the best time to use them will be on a long highway trip, where there is a constant and steady flow of gas through the injectors and helps to get 1-2 miles better economy.
